What is an Accountant?

You probably already have a business accountant. Someone who files your business taxes and manages your ledger. Accountants are very important to every business. However, they can be quite expensive, charging hundreds of dollars an hour. Accountant fees can add up, especially if you don't have a bookkeeper.


Why do you need both?

If you don't have a bookkeeper, you likely have a shoe-box of receipts, a pile of old invoices, and some records of payroll, which you hand to your accountant every year.  Your accountant then spends hours deciphering the year's worth of data in order to determine your taxes owed and put together your ledger. Wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper), if you provided them with a clean set of (digital) books with all the heavy lifting already done?!
